Texas Golden Crescent Gold Star Memorial In 2019, a vision of an Honor Pavilion came to life at the Field of Honor with a purpose to honor all K.I.A. from the Golden Crescent area. The labor and necessary equipment to build the 24×24 pavilion was donated by Burnett Customs. Four colors of bricks were laid out on the floor of the pavilion in a pattern.

This was done by a local Boy Scout as his Eagle Scout Project. In 2020 pillars, pedestals and benches were added. Plaques installed on the benches and pedestals were sponsored by organizations or individuals. The plaques installed on the pillars display the names of those killed in action from the 7 counties of the Golden Cresent area.

Bricks can be purchased in honor/memory of a Veteran, a loved one, your family’s name, your company’s name, bible scripture or other appropriate message.

Today the Memorial continues to be the site of many ceremonies honoring those who have served to protect our freedom and especially those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

OUR HISTORY: The Warrior’s Weekend Field of Honor was introduced into the Warrior’s Weekend “Family” in 2009 when the Executive Board gave COL (Ret) Mike Petrash the “go-ahead” to build what was then called a “Healing Field”.

This Field was patterned after a “like display” in which COL Petrash had participated in 2006 at the annual Black Hills Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, SD.

This first Field consisted of 550 flags. It was located in the vacant lot next to Faith Family church, on the corner of Mockingbird and Sam Houston (Streets).

The Field was moved to its current location (next to Parkway Church -4802 John Stockbauer Dr, Victoria, Texas) in 2015 to accommodate our growing needs and to offer more space. For a month in the fall, the Field is covered with flags, each one honoring an individual veteran (living or deceased) or a currently serving military person.

The Texas Golden Crescent Gold Star Honor Pavilion Memorial lists the names of all Soldiers killed in action in the Golden Crescent since WW1.

However, many other events take place throughout the year at the Field, and it is open 24/7, 365 days a year, for the public to visit.

We will be placing 441 crosses on the field in honor of those from the Golden Crescent Area
Killed in Action from WWI to present
